Made of solid beech, the archetypal,&nbsp;modest stool has been updated and reinterpreted by the Munich-based designer through the introduction of adjustable, contrastingly-coloured swivel screw made of&nbsp;self lubricant polypropylene.</p>

It was built using reinforced concrete to avoid being stolen.</p>

The resulting design cantilevered over the river, disturbing as little as possible of the natural vegetation of the river gorge.</p>

Collaborating with a basket maker from Bavaria and the paper manufacturer,&nbsp;Herkner developed a special technique in which he could use the yarns for three-dimensional objects. A&nbsp;steel metal grid supporting the yarn, which is woven in and out of the frame, shapes the baskets and bowls.</p>
