do you believe in magis

Having created one of Magis‘ most celebrated pieces – the angular, instantly-recognisable Chair One in 2003, the ubiquitous German designer continues his collaboration with the Italian manufacturer who has recently unveiled Grcic’s latest products, a pair of three-legged workshop stools. Made of solid beech, the archetypal, modest stool has been updated and reinterpreted by the Munich-based designer through the introduction of adjustable, contrastingly-coloured swivel screw made of self lubricant polypropylene.

cute clip

This USB stick for Elecom is in the shape of a paperclip. It can clip to a stack of documents, business cards or memos for handing data to a colleague or friend, or connect to other DATA clips for storage. A design that aims for a new relationship between daily life and digital data. Very elegant.

the one

I love this new light, simply titled ’One Crystal Chandelier‘ by Thomas Feichtner for Lobmeyr. Amazingingly, it's as beautiful as a single light as it is as an entire chandelier.

moore, moore, moore

The Australian practice established in 1990 by the New Zeland-born architect Ian Moore has given this 19th-century grocery warehouse a new lease of life by converting it into a stylish, black-and-white residence. The one-bedroom, two-floor warehouse is located in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney and encompasses a large, airy open-plan living area, an overlooking kitchen located on the mezzanine storey and an uniformly-white Corian-lined bathroom.

bench mark

Ricardo Garza Marcos designed the Rama (branch) bench for ONOMO for outdoor use. All you need to do is get yourself a comfy cushion for the top and you’re in business. The branch-like pieces add support to the back and base. It was built using reinforced concrete to avoid being stolen.

good gauthier

The panoramic window panels of Gauthier House fold inside to form the terrace-covered area. The dwelling is buried on its North side down the steep ground. The volume of the lower ground floor retracts from the façade line in the first floor, which produces a floating effect over the natural prairie.

a new leaf

The Goulding Summerhouse by Scott Tallon Walker Architects was originally designed for Sir Basil Goulding; He was so concerned about his beautiful gardens along the Dargle Valley that he wanted the new building to take up as little of the garden as possible. The resulting design cantilevered over the river, disturbing as little as possible of the natural vegetation of the river gorge.

trust worthy

The coat hanger Game of Trust consists of three identical Y-shaped elements. Each one supports and at the same time is supported by one of the others, resulting in an embrace that transforms the units into a unity.

basket case

German designer Sebastian Herkner's 'Bask Collection' stems from a trip he made to a company producing paper yarn in Spain. Collaborating with a basket maker from Bavaria and the paper manufacturer, Herkner developed a special technique in which he could use the yarns for three-dimensional objects. A steel metal grid supporting the yarn, which is woven in and out of the frame, shapes the baskets and bowls.
